So I have been on Facebook and on Twitter and even on www.BizNik.com for quite some time now. Facebook I like because it is actually my friends and people that I know/deal with that are on there with me. BizNik.com I like because it is all about business and the social side of business, and I appreciate the mission. Twitter I like, just because it is entertaining and fast-paced.

But I really haven’t had much success on any of them. I define that as “new connections at the very least, that will lead to new business or new opportunities to make new business happen.” I am new to it all still, even though I have been “on” them for a while because I haven’t been intent on succeeding and learning. I get that. No one ever became an astronaut on accident. I am on the verge of becoming a skeptic now, so now is the time to really learn it, or learn that it is all a waste of time and resources…

So, as I gear up my intention level, I want to start with one medium, Twitter, and get to the “how to” of it. Then, I can move on to the others. I have been doing some “tweeting” and have about 500 “followers.” I enjoy the links to interesting articles and quotes that people post. I have 2 names: @BizBuildersUSA , which I primarily use, and @SalesMercenary which I use/post on a limited basis. I post cool quotes and I put up some links to my sites and to others. The inbox thing seems useless. That is, it is just full of “thanks for the follow” stuff and “click here to earn $5,000 a day” that I just delete, because I assume it is some auto-responder crapola. So, like I said, I am on the verge of being a Twitter -Unbeliever…

Therefore, I think that the most encouraging and useful thing that I could start with would be some success stories. This is where you come in.

a) If you have had a success, chime in here. Hit comment and tell us about it.

b) If you have not had a successful track record, even though you feel you have done the activities…. join me in the quest. Look for someone with me and ask them to post on this blog, so that we can gather some knowledge of the possibilities.

c) If you think that Social Networking is just not good for business, let me know why and what brought you to that conclusion.

The end-game here is to find out why so many people are involved in social networking and how to capture or create some results. We can get to the How-to in a little while, so let’s start with some success stories and work our way to the activities that will propel us to our own definitions of success.

Hit “comments” below and leave your thoughts.

I just started reding a book called Plug Your Book! Online. It was a free download for my Aikido eReader that I downloaded for my HTC Droid, which, by the way, is a cool way to read books (One day, we will possibly have an eBook of YUSF or the companion workbook/pamphlet). Plug Your Book! Online is very well written, easy to follow, even for an Online Neandrathal like me. I got the feeling that the book has been around for a while, because it talked about “as download speeds increase, video on websites will be more and more effective,” but neverhteless, the guy knows his stuff and I got a lot of insights and an action plan.

You can find all his (Steve Weber) writings and a bunch of cool stuff on his site/blog :
http://www.weberbooks.com/

But who cares, really, about what I am doing? The Big Q is, “what are you doing?” If you are reading this, you most likely are in sales or in business for yourself. Here’s a self-test to see if you are doing or mildewing:

1) What was the last thing you studied that will increase your knowledge and skill to take you to the next level?
2) What is the last thing you stopped doing that was distracting you from being your best, doing your best, and living your best.
